Álbum brings together more than three decades of Leo Aversa’s photographic work dedicated to Brazilian popular music. Through one hundred photographs, the book captures memorable encounters with artists such as Caetano Veloso, Chico Buarque, Maria Bethânia, Milton Nascimento, Elza Soares and many others who have shaped Brazil’s musical heritage. With a foreword by Marisa Monte, the publication transforms this remarkable collection into a narrative that spans different generations of Brazilian music.

The editorial project was conceived to enhance Leo Aversa’s carefully curated selection of images, organising the content into a fluid and engaging reading experience. Typography, rhythm, proportions and editorial hierarchy were thoughtfully developed to accompany the strength of the photographs, allowing each image to find its own pace and place within the book’s narrative.

The result is an editorial project in which design and photography work in harmony. Each page brings cohesion to the collection, transforming an extraordinary photographic archive into a publication that preserves and shares an important part of Brazil’s musical memory.
