The first Tribalistas tour marked the reunion of Marisa Monte, Arnaldo Antunes and Carlinhos Brown following the release of the album that became one of the defining works of contemporary Brazilian music. Our relationship with the group began years earlier with the graphic design of their debut album, created in collaboration with Vik Muniz. Our challenge was to develop a visual language capable of capturing the strength of this long-awaited reunion while supporting a tour that travelled across Brazil, Latin America, Europe and the United States.
Invited by Batman Zavareze, we developed the tour’s visual identity, graphic design, digital communication and a custom typeface. Inspired by Brazil’s modernist movement, particularly the Manifesto Pau-Brasil and the work of Tarsila do Amaral, we created a visual language that expresses a contemporary vision of Brazilian identity while expanding the sense of collectivity at the heart of Tribalistas.
The result is a communication system that strengthens the tour across its different expressions while conveying the essence of the group: a union of voices, territories and influences. More than supporting a series of concerts, the identity reaffirms Tribalistas as a celebration of encounter, belonging and diversity.
